GLOWLOT Recap: The Night GoodLot Farmstead Lit Up for Glow Disc Golf
Some events go exactly as planned. And then there are nights like GLOWLOT, where everything comes together so perfectly that you find yourself standing on a disc golf course at 10:00 PM, surrounded by glowing discs and thousands of fireflies, thinking: this is exactly why we do this.
On June 13, 2026, Dr. Glow and Chainlink Disc Golf brought the glow-in-the-dark disc golf experience to GoodLot Farmstead Brewing Co. in Caledon, Ontario for the very first time. Over 60 players showed up, the course looked incredible, the beer was flowing, and nobody wanted the night to end.
Here is how it all went down.
The Venue: GoodLot Delivered in Every Way
If you have never been to GoodLot Farmstead Brewing Co., put it on your list immediately. Nestled in the heart of Caledon, GoodLot is an organic hop farm and solar-powered brewery producing fresh, hyper-local beer from ingredients grown right on the property. The setting is stunning, the staff are genuinely wonderful, and the beer speaks entirely for itself.
But the real news heading into GLOWLOT was the course. GoodLot had just completed an expansion of their disc golf layout, growing from 14 holes to a full 18-hole course. GLOWLOT was one of the first major events to be played on the newly completed layout, and it did not disappoint. The course wound through the property in a way that made for a genuinely varied and exciting round, with enough space between groups to keep things moving and enough character in each hole to keep things interesting.
To the entire GoodLot team: thank you for being such exceptional hosts. We hope to be back.
The Players: A Crowd That Made the Night
Over 60 players registered for the Dr. Glow Experience, and what struck me most about this group was how many of them were brand new to disc golf. Based on the questions coming in before the event and the energy at check-in, it was clear that GLOWLOT had brought out a lot of first-timers, and that is one of the things I am most proud of.
Glow-in-the-dark disc golf is one of the best entry points into this sport that exists. The visual excitement of a glowing disc cutting through the dark levels the playing field in a way that daytime disc golf simply does not. Experience matters a little less when everyone is navigating by glow. And watching players who had never thrown a disc before light up (pun fully intended) on that course on Saturday night was an absolute joy.
Chainlink Disc Golf ran beginner clinics throughout the afternoon to help new players get their footing before the sun went down. By the time 9:00 PM arrived and the shotgun start fired, everyone was ready.
The Glow Event: 18 Holes Under the Stars
At 8:00 PM, players gathered in GoodLot's Oast Barn for the Players' Meeting. Rules, safety, course format, and a few important reminders about keeping the pace moving and looking out for each other on the tighter front nine holes. Then, at 9:00 PM sharp, it was time.
Sixty-plus players teed off simultaneously from their assigned holes across the full 18-hole layout. The course was fully lit with UV basket lights, glow discs were flying, and the atmosphere was electric from the very first throw.
Playing the full 18-hole layout once was the right call. The travel between holes naturally spaced groups out and kept the pace of play smooth throughout the night. We had tested the course the Sunday before and played all 18 at a casual pace in just over an hour. The groups on Saturday had two hours, and it showed. Nobody was rushed, nobody was backed up, and everyone finished the round with smiles on their faces.
The Moment Nobody Planned: The Fireflies
Here is the thing about glow disc golf at GoodLot on the night of June 13, 2026: we were not the only ones glowing.
At some point during the round, it became apparent that the Caledon countryside had its own lighting crew on site. Thousands of fireflies emerged across the course and the surrounding farm, adding a layer of natural magic to the night that no event producer could ever plan for or replicate. Players were stopping mid-round to take it in. The combination of glowing discs, UV-lit baskets, and a field full of fireflies blinking in the dark was, frankly, otherworldly.
It was one of those moments that reminds you why getting outside after dark is worth it every single time.
The Discs: CCS and Dr. Glow on the Night
Two disc series were available for purchase at GLOWLOT, and both found plenty of new homes on the night.
The Chainlink Conservation Series Wildlife Polygram Glow Fundraiser Discs were a hit with players drawn to the cause behind them. The CCS is a Chainlink Disc Golf initiative supporting Ontario conservation areas by building disc golf courses that bring people back into nature. The fundraiser discs feature six wildlife-inspired polygram designs, are UV-printed, made from recycled plastic, and PDGA approved. Picking one up at GLOWLOT meant taking home a piece of the conservation mission along with your glow disc.
Dr. Glow custom-stamped discs in premium Eclipse and Total Eclipse plastics were also available, and for players who showed up without glow discs, glow tape was on hand to get existing discs ready for the night. Nobody was left out.

Thank You
To everyone who came out to GLOWLOT: Thank You! Genuinely. You drove out to Caledon, navigated the RBC Canadian Open traffic, showed up at a farm brewery at 6:00 PM, played 18 holes of disc golf in the dark, and made this night what it was. Events like this only work because of the community that shows up for them.
Thank you to Chainlink Disc Golf for being the best partners in this business. Thank you to the team at GoodLot Farmstead Brewing Co. for welcoming us onto your incredible property. And thank you to the fireflies, for reasons that should be obvious.
We will be back.
What's Next: Glow for More at Albion Hills
The glow season is not slowing down. On June 20, 2026, Dr. Glow is heading to Albion Hills Conservation Area for Glow for More, a glow-in-the-dark disc golf experience on the Birdie Course supporting the Paul McBeth Foundation's Throw for More campaign.
If GLOWLOT was your first Dr. Glow Experience, Albion Hills is a completely different feel. The Birdie Course is a compact 9-hole layout on a much smaller footprint. Much less walking. And the natural environment at Albion Hills, with its dense tree canopy blocking out ambient light, creates one of the best pure glow settings I have ever played.
