The Forest and Fairways Disc Golf Course debuts at Black Bear Ridge

With a pop-up Dr. Glow glow in the dark experience after dark!

Mark your calendars, because on Saturday, August 1st, disc golf officially arrives at Black Bear Ridge in Belleville, and we are throwing a party to match the occasion. The course opens for play with the official grand opening ceremony kicking off at 1:00 PM, and once the sun goes down, Dr. Glow is bringing the glow in the dark experience out east for the very first time. If you have been waiting for a reason to make the drive to the Quinte region, this is it!

A Course Worthy of the Property

Black Bear Ridge is not your average round. The property spans nearly 900 acres of rolling, tree lined land along the Moira River, and it is home to a championship golf course that has been ranked among the best public tracks in Canada and hosted PGA Tour Canada events. The new disc golf course, Forest and Fairways Disc Golf Course, is set within that same landscape, on the Academy Course, designed by Canadian designers Jeff MacKeigan and Cara Hovius from ChainLink Disc Golf.

Add luxury on site accommodations, a full restaurant with a patio overlooking the first tee, and easy access to the wineries and breweries of Prince Edward County, and you start to understand why this new disc golf course is such a big deal. Courses do not usually get to launch on grounds like this, and we intend to make the most of it!

The new 9-hole layout lives on the Academy Course, with short and long tee options so players of every skill level have a distance that fits their game. Long, bold, tree lined holes and some serious elevation changes make this a course you will want to play more than once!

Cost to Play

  • Your ticket to play is your receipt! Spend a minimum of $15 per person at Black Bear Ridge's onsite restaurant, The Turn Pub & Grill, and that receipt gets you access to the disc golf course for one round on both the short and long layout. It's that simple!

Stop by The Turn Pub & Grill to fuel up before your round, whether that is a coffee and a bakery item before an early tee time or a full meal and a cold drink to recharge between rounds. Stock up on the snacks and drinks you need to keep your energy up out there, you have earned it.

Please Note: Outside food and beverages are strictly prohibited on the property (water is permitted). This is one of Black Bear Ridge's firm policies, and anyone bringing outside food or drinks onto the course will be asked to leave immediately. We know it is an adjustment for some in the disc golf community, but it is essential to respect this rule so events like this one can keep happening at BBR.

Why This One Is Different

Dr. Glow has lit up parks and courses across the Greater Toronto Area, but this is the first time his glow experience is heading east of the city. Black Bear Ridge gives us a setting we simply have not had before: wide open fairways, a championship backdrop, and a property built for people who love being outside. Combine that with a freshly built course debuting on opening night, and you have got a first round that will be talked about for a long time!

See You Out There

Grab your friends, grab your discs, and get ready for a night you will not forget. Send this to the people you want on your card for opening day, this is a round best played with company!

See you at Black Bear Ridge on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
