We’re Bringing the Dr. Glow Experience to BALL GOLF for the First Time Ever
Big news from the lab tonight, and this one's a first even for us!
For years, Dr. Glow has been turning disc golf courses across Ontario into glowing, after-dark playgrounds. We've lit up baskets, charged discs, and watched entire communities discover that their favorite course looks completely different once the sun goes down. But on Saturday, October 3rd, we're doing something we've genuinely never done before: bringing the full Dr. Glow Experience to a round of traditional 'ball golf'.
Our partners at Black Bear Ridge Golf Resort in Belleville, Ontario invited us out to their Academy Short Course to see what happens when you take everything we've learned about glow disc golf and point it at fairways, greens, and a good old-fashioned tee shot instead. Nine holes, one night, and a course we're about to light up from tee to green.
What's Happening
Black Bear Ridge's Academy Short Course is a 9-hole, all par-3 executive course, the kind of layout built for everyone, whether you're sharpening your short game, bringing the family out for the evening, or picking up a club for the very first time. Open to all skill levels. That's true of every Dr. Glow event, and it's just as true here.
Once the sun sets on October 3rd, we're illuminating the holes, the greens, and the course around you, turning a course Black Bear Ridge calls their "best kept secret" into something you've genuinely never seen before.

Before You Head Out
Dress code is simple: express yourself, keep it presentable, and go bright. We can't say this enough, wear the brightest colours you own. They'll glow under the lights, they'll look incredible in photos, and just as important, they'll help you and your group actually see each other out there once it's dark. Safety first, style second, though you'll have plenty of both.
Soft spikes only, to keep those greens in the great shape Black Bear Ridge has worked hard to maintain. And heads up, no outside alcohol is permitted on the course, though The Turn Pub & Grill will be open if you'd like a drink before or after your round.
Light Up Your Game
Here's our one piece of gear advice: bring your own LED golf balls. They light up on impact, so there's no charging station or UV flashlight to fuss with mid-round. Hit it, and watch it glow!
(The Black Bear Ridge Pro Shop has ordered a limited inventory of balls for the night, so we'd recommend grabbing your own ahead of time rather than counting on it.)
Keep an Eye on the Weather
