How To Customize Your HALO Red
The HALO Red is ready to use straight out of the bag, pre-paired with the included remote. Pressing the remote button activates the light for 3 seconds. You can customize the device using the steps below.
General Notes
- Setup Button Location: The recessed setup button is in the small hole between the USB-C charging port and the power switch. Use the provided paperclip (or any paperclip) to press it.
- Reset Anytime: If you make a mistake, simply turn the HALO off and back on to reset the process. You cannot damage the HALO in setup mode.

How to Enter Setup Mode
- Turn On the HALO: Slide the power switch to "ON." The red light will illuminate (it’s brighter on one side).
- Press and Hold the Setup Button: GENTLY insert the paperclip into the hole and hold for about 3 seconds until a blue light flashes briefly.
- Watch for Flash Signals: Once the blue light appears, it will begin to flash in the following sequence:
- One flash: PAIR Mode.
- Two flashes: TIMING Mode.
- Three flashes: UNPAIR Mode.
- Four flashes: Exit setup mode (you’ll need to restart if you miss your window).
- Select Your Mode: Press the setup button again during the appropriate flash sequence to enter the desired mode. (Example: After the blue light flashes twice, press the button again to enter TIMING mode.)
Modes Explained
1. PAIR Mode: Pair a New Remote
- Enter PAIR Mode by pressing the setup button once after the single flash.
- Within PAIR Mode, press and hold the button on the remote you wish to pair for about 1 second.
- The blue light will stay on briefly to confirm the remote is paired. The HALO will then exit setup mode and return to normal operation.

Notes:
- Each HALO can pair with up to 5 remotes.
- A single remote can control multiple HALOs.
2. TIMING Mode: Adjust Light Duration
- Enter TIMING Mode by pressing the setup button after the two flashes.
- Quickly press the setup button the desired number of times to set the duration (e.g., press 7 times for 7 seconds).
- Each button press resets the 3-second timeout, so you don’t need to rush.
- Wait for 3 seconds without pressing anything. The blue light will briefly stay on to confirm the new setting.
Special Case:
- Set to 0 seconds for "Always On" mode. In this mode:
- The light remains on continuously at reduced intensity.
- Control the light using the power switch; the remote will not function.
- A full charge provides up to 3 hours of operation.
- To switch out of "Always On," adjust the timing again and restart the HALO (turn off and back on).
3. UNPAIR Mode: Remove All Paired Remotes
- Enter UNPAIR Mode by pressing the setup button after the three flashes.
- Once in UNPAIR Mode, no further action is needed. The HALO will erase all stored remote keys and automatically return to normal operation.
Troubleshooting
- Missed Your Mode? If you didn’t select a mode in time (four flashes), simply restart setup mode.
- Mistakes in Setup? Turn the HALO off and back on to reset.
Limitations
The HALO can store up to 5 remotes.
The maximum light duration is 10 seconds, even if you press more times in TIMING Mode.
